In case you want to allow users to preview your store before it’s officially open for business, or want to sell the products offline allowing the users only to view them and later contact you for making a purchase, you can put your site into a Catalog mode.
Catalog mode disables all the shopping cart features. You products will be visible on the site, but the price and the Add to Cart button will not show up, so that nobody will be able to buy them. You can compare the store mode and the catalog mode on the screenshots below:

PrestaShop allows you to do it easily through the admin panel.
To enable Catalog mode in PrestaShop 1.6, follow these step:

Log into your PrestaShop admin panel.

Navigate to Preferences-> Products menu:

In Catalog Mode option press YES button to enable it. By default, the catalog mode is disabled:

Click Save button on the bottom right to activate the Catalog mode.

Return to your site fronted to check the changes:
After you enabled the Catalog mode, it is impossible to buy anything in your store which became a simple gallery of products.
